Coronavirus protection: Three ‘most important’ items to have when shopping during pandemic

ANCON Technologies Limited technical director, Dr Boris Gorbunov, has warned that Britons need to take action to ensure their safety while shopping. During an interview with Express.co.uk, Dr Gorbunov insisted that shoppers should do so with face masks and wear gloves to protect against coronavirus. He added Britons should invest in getting an air purifier for their homes to use after coming in from the outside.

He noted this was to help fight the virus particles that may still be in the air if it is brought in from the outside.
Dr Gorbunov said: “The main thing is masks and gloves while shopping, for instance.
“If you go to a supermarket it would be a good idea to have a mask and gloves.
“At home it is different but masks and gloves still do help however it would be better to clean down your surfaces.

“You should clean down your surfaces with proper anti-viral stuff.”
Dr Gorbunov also noted a key item to have in the home that should be used when coming from the supermarket or other public areas.
He said: “In the home, you can also use filters to help purify the air.
“There are some available on the market, they blow air with temperature control and Dyson does manufacture them.
Dr Gorbunov specialises in aerosol science within ANCON, this focuses on the detection of trace species in the air like viruses.
He has also claimed that new modelling data has indicated that coronavirus can spread from person to person at a larger distance than first anticipated, 25 metres.
He concluded the use of masks may further help stop the spread of the virus in the event the disease can spread more rapidly.
