Royal tribute: Will Queen honour Kate with entire jewellery collection?

[ad_1]

Queen Elizabeth II’s jewellery collection is undoubtedly priceless. For centuries the British royal family have passed down their priceless jewels from one generation to another, although they don’t always make it out intact. Ella Kay from The Court Jeweller said: “Pieces are often modified to better suit current tastes or to be more wearable for an individual woman.” As fashions change, members of the Royal Family recycle stones to keep up with the style.

Will the Queen honour Kate with her entire jewellery collection?

It is clear to most that the Queen has some of the finest jewellery in the world.

Her collection includes a range of tiaras like the Fringe Tiaras, the Cartier Halo tiara and Queen Mary’s bandeau tiara, which was sported by the Duchess of Sussex on her wedding day.

The Queen also owns a number of brooches which feature stunning gems like rubies, amethysts and diamonds.

Her collection also includes numerous pearl necklaces and earrings.

The chances are that some of her collection will descend to family members such as Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

However, if the jewels are a part of the royal collection or the crown jewels, Ms Kay says that these are “regalia used in ceremonies of state, like corporations”, then they are “owned by the sovereign in a trust”.

Since this lot of jewels do not explicitly belong to Her Majesty, it would swap hands based on who is sitting on the throne.

Ms Kay explained: “I’d say the majority of her [the Queen] jewellery is part of her personal collection.

“That includes everything from the pearl earrings that she wears on a daily basis to her brooch collection and her tiaras, as well as the jewellery she inherited from Queen Mary and the Queen Mother.”

When it comes to popularity, the Duchess of Cambridge has always taken the lead with her friendly demeanour and is well-liked by people across the world.

The Duchess’s royal biographer Claudia Joseph said: “She has three lovely children, has been honoured by the Queen for her hard work and is really well-liked not just here but around the world.

“She’s very much the girl next door, from how she dresses to how she behaves and interacts with people on engagements.

“She is likeable and relatable and that has made her very popular.”
