Prince Harry told guests at a Sentebale charity dinner: “Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible.

“I’ve accepted this, knowing that it doesn’t change who I am or how committed I am.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently in a one year trial period since stepping down as working royals in May.

The terms of their royal withdrawal will be reviewed next spring and while a final decision on Harry’s honorary military titles has not been made it seems unlikely he will get them back.
