Liam Payne posted a photo of a text he sent when he was auditioning for the X-Factor and was placed in a boy band.

He captioned the image: “What a journey… I had no idea what we were in for when I sent this text to my Dad ten years ago at this exact time the band was formed.”

Even Simon Cowell jumped in with his own comments on the matter, saying: “Today is a very special day.

“I was lucky enough to meet five guys. Who were so much fun. So talented. It feels like 10 minutes ago. And you made it happen.”

However one member of the band was ominously silent throughout the celebrations: Zayn Malik.
