In the footage, mental barriers are picked up and thrown towards armed police in the streets of Catalonia. The group of police then march forward in a bid to get the protesters to disburse.
During the protest, a person appeared to be run over by Spanish police.
The protest was regarding the poor management of the coronavirus pandemic by the Government.
Spain is amongst the worst-affected European countries by the COVID-19 crisis.
Spanish Judiciary Council & ex-member of the Catalan Parliament Alfons López Tena tweeted: “A mix of far-left, far-right, and negationists, attack the Catalan police in protest against COVID restrictions ordered by Catalonia’s government.”
At the time of writing, Spain has the sixth-highest number of COVID-19 cases in the world.
The country has more than 1.2 million cases in total.
The death toll in Spain is currently higher than 35,000 people.
