Sarah Ferguson, 60, has already published several children’s books but the Duchess of York has now turned her hand to writing for adults and penned a debut novel. Fergie’s first book for adults is titled “Her Heart for a Compass” and will be published by Mills & Boon later this year.

When will Sarah Ferguson’s debut novel be released?

Her Heart for a Compass is due to be published by Mills & Boon on August 3, 2021.

What is the book about?

The new book draws on Fergie’s aristocrat roots and is a fictional portrayal of her great-great-aunt Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas.

Speaking about the book, the Duchess said: “It all started with researching my ancestry.

“Digging into the history of the Montagu-Douglas Scotts, I first came across Lady Margaret, who intrigued me because she shared one of my given names.

“But although her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch, were close friends with Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, I was unable to discover much about my namesake’s early life, and so was born the idea which became Her Hear for a Compass.

“With real historical events and facts to hand, my imagination took over.”

Sarah and Andrew’s youngest daughter Princess Eugenie, 30, is currently expecting her first child with husband Jack Brooksbank.

The couple’s royal baby is expected any day as last autumn they announced their child was due in “early 2021.”

Sarah and Andrew are both said to be delighted by Eugenie’s baby news and have shared their excitement at the prospect of becoming grandparents.

A Palace statement confirming Eugenie’s pregnancy last year read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021.

“The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news.”

Eugenie and Jack are understood to be spending the current lockdown at the Royal Lodge with Fergie and Prince Andrew.
