Marvel movies: Why Avengers fans ‘dissect’ Marvel trailers for spoilers and Easter eggs | Films | Entertainment

Marvel movies are never simple narratives with plain, boring characters. Instead, there are twists and turns, superheroes and frightening villains. The filmmakers often pack in Easter eggs and plot clues for fans to dissect as well, and one expert has revealed how he was involved in one of these himself.
Marvel films have everything from post-credit scenes to plot clues littered throughout each film.
This has become one of the best-loved attributes of the franchise, as it gives fans the chance to dissect every detail and come up with their own theories of what could be coming next.
This has abounded in recent months, as fans have been awaiting the arrival of the beginning films in Phase Four, which includes Disney Plus TV series WandaVision.
WandaVision sees Scarlet Witch (played by Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) live out a domestic sitcom life while travelling through time, though things are clearly not what they appear.

The trailers for the show, as well as other interview snippets with the cast and production team, all have left fans reeling as they try to work out what is coming next, as the show continues to unfurl each week.
With The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, as well as the Loki TV show soon to come to Disney+, it is no wonder these teasers are getting fans excited on the forums.
Trailers are key to this, as well as post-credit scenes, as they provide a teaser into what is coming, but often suggest more than anyone could possibly imagine.
One person with experience in this is filmmaker Luke Armstrong, who worked on the special effects for various big projects, including Marvel movies and James Bond movie Spectre.
In his experience, fans really take their time looking at the trailers, and in his case, a shot he worked on which ended up in the trailer for Avengers: Endgame was vitally important to the story.
He said in an exclusive conversation with Express.co.uk: “I have seen people picking out shots online and being lucky to work on a lot of shots that ended up in trailers, and people really pore over their shots.
“I remember listening to an Empire [magazine] podcast, where they were dissecting the trailers or trying to guess the significance of interesting points.
“[The shot was] at the beginning of the trailer, and we worked on some shots of Robert Downey Jr in the spaceship. Guess what the significance of that was?”
As many fans will remember, Avengers: Endgame starts with Iron Man’s Tony Stark stranded in space, as well as Nebula (Karen Gillan).
DON’T MISS
He becomes afraid of dying while out in space, where he has been stranded for almost two weeks, during which time Thanos (Josh Brolin) has brought an end to half of the Earth’s population, in what was known as the Snap.
He returns to Earth after being rescued by Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and soon, on discovering Thanos has destroyed the Infinity Stones to prevent further use, goes to live life with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow).
Five years later, they have had a daughter, Morgan, and it could be his brush with death in the spaceship made him more home-focused and afraid of losing his family, as he is at first unwilling to help the Avengers in their quest to use the quantum realm to change the course of history.
As fans know, he ultimately relents, but in defeating Thanos and bringing order back to the Earth, he sacrifices himself, dying in his wife’s arms.
While some fans may think trailers do not give away as much as we may think, evidently, in the case of Marvel, it is as important as ever to dissect every last detail.
