The 30-year-old is due to give birth to her first child in February. She announced her pregnancy on her Instagram account in September 2020, writing: “Jack and I are so excited for early 2021.” The post was accompanied by a photo showing the Princess and her husband Jack Brooksbank holding a pair of tiny bear slippers.
In an interview with US Weekly, the Duchess of York said: “Having not had my own mother around, I’ve always been determined to be a very present mother with my children, and I know Eugenie will be the same with hers.”
She added: “She is incredibly empathetic and will be a great mother.
“She is a very strong and determined person, always looking for the truth in all she does.
“Her work for the Anti-Slavery Collective is a commitment she steadfastly campaigns for, to give everyone the chance to have a voice.”
The Duchess grew up without her mother after her parents divorced in 1974.
In an article for the Sun, royal expert Ingrid Seward wrote that Fergie felt unloved and insecure when her mother fled the family nest and blamed herself for her mother’s decision.

The Duchess also said that both Princess Eugenie and her husband were “looking forward to sharing the new baby with the whole family”.
Royal fans are eagerly discussing possible names for the new addition to the Royal Family.
And according to the betting site Betfair, the most popular name choices with the punters are currently Alice and Arthur, both at 8/1.
