[ad_1]

Kate Middleton, 39, has an impressive jewellery collection with beautiful necklaces, bracelets and rings. She also regularly wears pieces from the Queen’s huge collection and also owns pieces that previously belonged to Princess Diana.

The Duchess loves to add jewellery to her outfits to pull a look together.

While she tends to opt for more expensive pieces, more recently, she has worn affordable pieces from high-street brands like Missoma and Monica Vinader.

Kate is also a huge fan of pearls, and adds them to her look for more formal events and engagements.

However for a recent zoom call, the royal wore an affordable pair of pearl earrings from Simon Roche with a casual outfit, showing they are suitable for all occasions.

“He gifted her a thin platinum chain to which he added two pearls each year on her birthday, creating a full set.”

Members of the Royal Family love pearls including the Queen, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Princess Anne who regularly wear them on special occasions.

The Queen has one particular necklace which she wears often and it is her three-strand pearl necklace that she wore to Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997.

It is still in the monarch’s regular rotation of jewellery.

Princess Diana was also a huge fan of pearls and her sapphire and pearl choker necklace became her signature.

The expert added: “Pearls have become a true classic, they are completely timeless pieces of jewellery that are easy to wear and complement all skin tones and hair colour.

“It seems Kate will be following in this tradition, with her already displaying her collection of pearl jewellery on different occasions.”

The Duchess also has some expensive pearl pieces in her jewellery collection.

She recently wore her £890 earrings from designer Annoushka, which have become a staple for the Duchess throughout lockdown.

The 18ct Gold Brown Diamond Baroque Pearl Earrings retail for a whopping £890 and she first debuted them for the first official photos with Prince George but has also worn them more casually with jeans too.

Speaking to Express.co.uk another expert shared why pearls are so expensive.

TheDiamondStore.co.uk said: “Anything that is as rare and beautiful as a pearl invariably has its cost…Pearls are the only gemstones formed by living creatures, shellfish.

“Nowadays it is not environmentally sustainable to dive for natural pearls so we wear cultured pearls instead.

“Pearl production is incredibly complex and it takes years and years to get it right.

“Even then, not every pearl comes out the same and they must be carefully sorted and selected by hand.

“Real pearl jewellery is additionally set in silver or gold or strung in silk, which requires a highly skilled jewellery craftsperson.

“In other words, a lot of time, labour and love is needed before a beautiful pearl jewellery piece gets from a pearl bed to a jewellery store.”
