Actor and filmmaker Seth Rogen has said that Emma Watson did not “storm off the set” of his film This Is The End, and has dismissed the notion she was “uncool or unprofessional”.

Watson starred in the 2013 comedy alongside Rogen, who directed and wrote the movie which featured an ensemble cast of actors playing fictionalised versions of themselves.

Last week, Rogen addressed the rumour that Watson had walked off set during the filming, after objecting to a scene about cannibalism.

The scene in question featured Danny McBride as a cannibal, with Channing Tatum as a prisoner on a leash wearing leather underwear.

In a statement shared on Twitter, Rogen said he wanted to “correct” the story because “it misrepresents what actually happened”.

He said: “Emma Watson did not ‘storm off the set’ and it’s s***** that the perception is that she did. The scene was not what was originally scripted, it was getting improvised, changed drastically and was not what she agreed to.

“The narrative that she was in some way uncool or unprofessional is complete bulls***. I for sure should have communicated better and because I didn’t, she was put in an uncomfortable position.”

Rogen added that the Harry Potter actress shared her concerns with him, praising her for doing so.

“We agreed on her not being in the scene together. I was thrilled for the opportunity to work with her and would be thrilled to get that opportunity again.

“I am very sorry and disappointed it happened, and I wish I had done more to prevent it.”

In his interview with GQ, Rogen said that Watson was “probably right” about the scene, adding it was “probably funnier the way we ended up doing it”.
