Clarence House, who are responsible for the Duchess and Prince Charles‘s affairs, previously said Camilla Parker Bowles would not take on the title of Queen.
The title is not an automatic right and the Duchess of Cornwall, who has enjoyed an at-times frayed relationship with the public since her marriage to Prince Charles in 2005, was expected to remain Princess Consort.
Clarence House said before their wedding in 2005: “Mrs. Parker Bowles will use the title HRH The Duchess of Cornwall after marriage.
“It is intended that Mrs. Parker Bowles should use the title HRH The Princess Consort when The Prince of Wales accedes to The Throne.”
However in the years since Clarence House has stopped commenting on the matter, amid rumours Prince Charles is pushing for his wife to become Queen.
In July last year a Royal Butler revealed the Prince was lobbying for Camilla to become Queen when his mother passes away.
And a handwriting expert has even waded into the mix, claiming the Duchess is determined to be Queen because she “adores the limelight”.
In July last year an unnamed Royal Butler, who had worked for the Royal Family for more than a decade, told Daily Star Online: “Does she want to do it (be Queen)? No.
“But she loves him, so obviously she’s going to end up having to for him.
“She knows there can be a fine line with what happened with Diana.
“I know Prince Charles really does want her to become Queen. I know the Prince, he usually gets what he wants!”
He said, ultimately, the public’s opinion on the matter would hold the final say.
The butler said: “At the end of the day it comes down to the public opinion, and the Prince is hoping it comes towards to her.
“I think the public opinion has moved now, they’ve accepted her.
“I know her really well – she’s so lovely and honest. There’s no glamour about her and she’s very nervous I admit that.”
Handwriting experts have also waded in, with one claiming Camilla’s writing style means she wants to become Queen.
Tracey Trussell said the Duchess’s handwriting showed she “adores the limelight”.
She said: “She craves the respect and would love to be Queen.”
