How to remove ink stains

Ink stains can be hard to shift, whether they come from water-based or oil-based ink.

Often you may stain clothes whether it is through inadvertently grazing your sleeve as you write a message or leaving a pen in a pocket.

There are a number of easy fixes for this issue, depending on the type of ink which has caused the stain.

For stubborn stains, you should allow the item to soak overnight.

Over time you will begin to see the ink stain fade.

You can add some more of the solution or ammonia to the cleaning area to help remove the stain.

When the stain has disappeared, rinse the garment and then rub in a little detergent and wash as you normally would.

Air-dry the item and then you should see the stain has completely disappeared.

Leather

Ink stains on leather can be very difficult to remove.

The best way to remove ink stains on leather is to use rubbing alcohol.

Lightly dip a cotton swab into rubbing alcohol and then very lightly rub at the stain.

If this does not work you should take it to a dry cleaner or a specialised leather service.
