Ikea: Retailer issues recall on multiple kitchenware products

Product recalls are issued when a retailer or brand has found a fault with an item. This means that it is unsafe for customers to use and so it is withdrawn from shelves. If a customer has already bought the item, they must usually return it to a store for a full refund.
On its website, Ikea said: “Customers are kindly asked to return them to an IKEA store for a full refund.
“Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required.”

The company added: “We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
The affected products are green, yellow, red, blue, dark blue, and white.
All of them are either HEROISK or TALRIKA mugs, side plates, plates, or bowls.
It is relatively uncommon for Ikea to issue a product recall, its last one being in January 2020.
At the time, the TROLIGTVIS travel mug was affected because Ikea received test reports showing that the product may migrate levels of Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) exceeding the recommended limits.
In other product recall news, TIME Cables recently issued a product recall on an item sold at B&Q and Tradepoint.
The products affected are the TIME Cable 2 Core Flexible Cables, which come in white, black, gold, orange, and white.
The cables are also various sizes, with the five metre, 10 metre, and 25 metre versions affected.
TIME Cables issued a safety notice on these products, telling customers to “immediately” stop using the item if they have already bought one.
