Photos of the scene show multiple squad cars parked outside after the station was closed shortly before 2pm. South Eastern Railway said services will not resume “until further notice”. Reports on social media say the victim was knifed in the shoulder.
One shocked witness said they saw someone bleeding while passengers filed into the station.
They said: “Yup stabbing at Bromley South station. Took them long enough to close the station though.
“Someone’s bleeding and they still let public in. Why?”
Another woman said there were “sirens going off everywhere.”
British Transport Police (BTP) said a teenage boy had been arrested in connection with the incident.
A spokesperson for the force said: “British Transport Police were called at 1:09pm, 31 May, to Bromley south station following a report that a member of railway staff had been assaulted.
“Officers are in attendance and a teenage boy has been arrested.
“A member of staff has been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.”
