Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival announces authors line-up | Books | Entertainment

Comedian and TV presenter Richard Osman, whose cosy caper The Thursday Murder Club was one of the bestselling books of 2020, will be talking about his eagerly-anticipated follow-up. Other guests include Mick Herron, whose Slough House series is being televised with Gary Oldman in the starring role; Dr Ruth Galloway author Elly Griffiths; Shetland writer Ann Cleeves; Queen of crime Val McDermid and Cry Baby bestseller Mark Billingham.
The event returns to Harrogate’s Old Swan Hotel from July 22 to 25.
The Daily Express is media partner for the festival’s crime book of the year award.
Inspector Rebus author and programming chair Ian Rankin said: “After a year of once-in-a-lifetime challenges, I couldn’t be more excited to stage this celebration of crime.”
