Cilla Black died on August 1, 2015. The legendary singer made a name for herself in the music industry before moving over to TV, where she eventually became a national treasure after appearing on shows such as Blind Date and Loose Women. The singer, who had achieved multiple number-one singles in her career, was 72-years-old at the time of her death.

Cilla was found at her holiday home in the Spanish town of Estepona.

It was believed that the star had not been found for at least four hours after her fall and subsequent stroke.

Shortly after her death, a book of condolence was opened at the Liverpool Town Hall.

A funeral service was held over two weeks later on August 15, 2015.

Cilla and The Beatles crossed paths frequently when she worked as a coat girl at the legendary Cavern Club.

There, Cilla watched the likes of John Lennon and Paul McCartney play some of their first shows on stage as The Quarrymen.

Lennon and McCartney even wrote a song for the star, a track which peaked at number seven on the UK charts: It’s For You.

After being signed by Brian Epstein, Cilla achieved two number-one singles with You’re My World and Anyone Who Had a Heart.

The latter song was a cover of a Dionne Warwick song of the same name.

Cilla and Dionne subsequently endured a life-long feud after the British star was accused of “stealing” the track.

Nevertheless, Cilla continued with her music career and later went on to become a TV personality.

Her most notable position on TV was as the host of TV dating show Blind Date.

Cilla remained on the show from 1985 to 2003.
