Prince William and Kate have been specifically chosen for “sensitive” international trips, according to Richard Fitzwilliams. The royal commentator spoke to Express.co.uk about how the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had been “entrusted” with “sensitive trips”. He also noted that the royal couple had a “very good year” last year “in contrast” to some of the members of the Royal Family.

He told Express.co.uk: “There’s no about the Cambridges star is rising and they’ll be doing more and more.

“They’ve had a very good year in contrast to some of the members of the Royal Family.

“Look at the trip to Pakistan following on from two years ago when William went to Israel and the occupied territories.

“These are the sort of sensitive trips that are being entrusted to them.”

Prince William met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in 2018.

This was the first-ever official visit by a British Royal Family member to Israel and Palestine.

During the visit, they met with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi.

After this, the Queen’s grandson visited Kuwait and Oman at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The tour came at the 120th anniversary of signing a friendship treaty between Kuwait and the UK.

The Duke met with senior officials and highlighted the works of charities concerned with defence, education and environment.

Mr Fitzwilliams described William and Kate as “exemplifying royal duty at its best”.
