Kate’s style: Duchess of Cambridge causes debate with ‘silly earrings’ at Euros finals
[ad_1]
The Duchess of Cambridge turned heads on Sunday night at the Euro 2021 final wearing massive red, beaded earrings.
However, some were much more sceptical of the eccentric choice.
For instance, one critic wrote: “Kate Middleton misses the chance to wear a Diana like power suit.
“With all the men in their Sunday best and she chooses a smart casual high street jeans and jacket and silly earrings #Euro2020Final #stylefail.”
The earrings themselves are from Blaiz, a woman-owned London-based brand and cost £65.
DON’T MISS:
The description is as follows: “These luxurious double-sided red statement beaded earrings, have been handstitched into a teardrop design.
“Made for pierced ears, the earring post is gold plated brass.”
Every purchase from Blaiz goes towards causes across South America, according to founder Stephanie Margaronis Mordehachvili.
“The Blaiz woman is confident and inspired by something unique.
“She wants a piece of the Latin American spirit to circulate around her, and she wants to stand out,” a statement reads on her website.
Stand out Kate Middleton most certainly did at Wembley Stadium.
The Court Jeweller tweeted out saying: “Kate wore patriotic red beaded earrings to watch the Euro finals at Wembley on Sunday.”
The huge red earrings to match the white and black outfit was a bold statement in support of the England FA team, which made a change from Kate’s more usually understated looks.
The Twitter account Kate’s Closet, which works to find cheaper alternatives of the Duchess of Cambridge’s looks, immediately tweeted out a replica of the earrings at a cheaper price on Amazon.
Royal fans have mostly taken to the unusual choice of jewellery and are trying to recreate the look at a more affordable price.
The exact earrings Kate wore are still available to buy on the Blaiz website and other alternatives can be found on Amazon and various jewellery sites.
Blaiz has a boutique near Kensington Palace where the Duchess of Cambridge lives, perhaps explaining why she chose the statement earrings.
Kate’s striking look at Wembley came just a few hours after her classy outfit choice at Wimbledon.
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a £695 salmon pink dress for the Wimbledon final on Sunday afternoon.
Kate’s style became loved because of her dainty and often understated choice of jewellery to match her chic and elegant style.
However, her pop of colour at Wembley with the massive, beaded earrings complemented the simple black and white outfit, and it went down a storm with some fans.
