Mr Markle delved into the crisis created by Meghan and Harry’s decision to no longer be pivotal members of the Royal Family. In a scorching attack to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Mr Thomas said he is “very disappointed” about their announcement, which he described as confusing and senseless.
Appearing on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, the former Hollywood lighting director said: “It’s very stressful.
“I’m still very disappointed with what’s going on.
“Of course I love my daughter and I would love my grandson if I met him.
“This decision to make it or break it with the royals is very confusing.
“I don’t think anyone understands or can figure out why it happened, it makes no sense.”
In his lengthy conversation with Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan, Mr Markle also discussed claims his daughter has become a victim of racism in the past two years.
He said: “I’m having trouble buying that.

“There has never been a problem in terms of race with Meghan, at her school or at any place and I haven’t noticed it in England at all.
“I think England is far more liberal than the United States when it comes to racists, I don’t think she’s being bullied in any way shaped by racism.”
In October last year, Prince Harry launched an attack against the tabloid press, saying Meghan had been the focus of a “ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son.”
DON’T MISS
Before that, in November 2016, a few weeks after Meghan and Harry’s relationship became public, the Duke of Sussex issued a statement where he spoke of “racial undertones” in certain articles and “outright sexism and racism of social media trolls” against his then-girlfriend.
Mr Markle, who hasn’t spoken to his daughter since May 2018 and didn’t attend the Sussexes’ wedding due to health problems, said he “loves” his daughter and has no other way to reach out to her but speak to the press.
He said: “I haven’t seen my grandson and I really miss my daughter – Harry I’ve never seen.
“For me, there’s only one way to reach them; I will give an interview and wait 30 days to get an answer back.
“I can’t get through to the royals.
“I can send a letter but I’m not sure it will get there.
“I am at their mercy.”
Mr Markle, 75, then added that he believes Meghan and Harry could have flown to Mexico and visit him if they really cared about seeing him.
He continued: “If they wanted to get in touch I’m sure they could.
“I think Harry should have come to me.
“He’s a royal, he could have got a plane and he could have come down to Mexico.”
