Prince Harry’s hidden influence over Meghan Markle birthday video exposed by expert

Meghan Markle released a new video to mark her 40th birthday on August 4 and launched a new 40×40 initiative to help women get back into work. The clip was filmed at Harry and Meghan’s £11 million Montecito mansion and shows the Duchess sitting in front of a large desk in a set-up that mirrors royal video engagements, one expert has claimed.
Language expert and author Judi James analysed Meghan’s new video and shared her insights with Express.co.uk.
The Duchess seemed to want to create a sense of “US royalty” in the clip, Judi claimed.
Judi said: “Presenting very much as ‘US royalty’ here, with her huge desk complete with family photos and sitting in front of the large fireplace wearing her own meaningful jewels around her neck, Meghan’s elegant styling and status signals look rather like ‘Buckingham palace meets Spa break’.
“Meghan’s set-up is, of course, cool, calm and modern, but with the dog asleep on a cushion and Harry up to his usual pranks outside the window, there are similarities in setting here to one of the Queen’s video messages.”

Judi added: “Even the cup of tea and the biscuits decanted onto a plate on a tray beside her suggests a rather ‘country house’ feel.”
But while Meghan may have taken inspiration from the Queen, it’s Prince Harry’s comic influence that comes through in the tone of the video, Judi claimed.
Judi added: “It was Harry of course who famously involved the Queen in some comedy appearances that showed her more fun side, with their Olympic video and stunt being the most famous.
“Here it seems he might just have nudged his wife into doing a similarly comical message, perhaps knowing that having a self-effacing sense of humour comes high up on the list of what makes us likeable by the public.”
She added: “She returns the jokes rather than soaking them up, though, to avoid sounding as though she is just being the victim of some teasing.
“This choice of words implies a sense of control, rather than just laughing passively.”
Referring to Meghan’s choice of words, Judi said: “‘Peaceful under a tree’s already been done’ gives Meghan the return-serve punchline, as does her ‘I already have similar across my back’ when Melissa suggests tattoos for her 40th.”
The Duchess switches to a more corporate tone in order to pitch her 40×40 initiative to help women get back into work, Judi claimed.
The expert said: “Then Meghan changes tone and pace to pick up on her ‘Idea’ that she has mentioned earlier for her birthday.”
Meghan’s use of language gives the impression she is well-connected and very at home in the corporate sphere, Judi said.
The expert added: “Her style of speech becomes more corporate, but blended with a sense of celebrity lifestyle:
“‘I’m asking forty friends to mentor a woman who is mobilising back into the workforce.’
“Throws out the thought of a massive friend-base and the corporate-speak suggests Meghan is fully immersed in that side of life, too.”
