In an Instagram story, Ms Mulroney called out an unnamed person for posting “pretty pictures” that now seems to have been deleted from the site. The post read: “Pretty pictures are pretty pictures. Strive to use your platform for good and spread stories of incredible people striving to make this world a better place.”Tweeters were quick to point out that the post seemed coincidental timing, considering Kate had been posting a number of photos to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day 

One said: “Please do remind us what good you are spreading @jessicamulroney? If this IG post is a dig at the Duchess of Cambridge – timing suggests so – then you’ve failed dramatically”

Another replied: “Jessica is definitely making the world a better place with her photos. One a** pic at a time”

A third raged: “Jessica Mulroney is Jewish and she’s pi**ing on someone who is trying to honour the victims of the Holocaust? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT WOMAN?”

Her husband Ben Mulroney stepped in to try and diffuse the Twitter war, by saying that Ms Mulroney was trying to raise funds and awareness for the victims of Flight 752.

“Yesterday, my wife @jessicamulroney posted a call on her IG to raise funds/awareness for the families of the victims of Flight 752.

“It was accompanied by an IG story that conveyed that actions trump thoughts & prayers.

“Shame on anyone who has tried to twist it into anything else.”

Another responded: “The pictures that Catherine has taken are now part of the historical record of the courage shown by the survivors of the Holocaust. Future generations will learn from these. Catherine is a force for change. M will never be able to compete with her.”

A third stepped in: “To disregard these powerful images & at the same time disrespect the people in them inferring they & their stories aren’t worthy to be focused on is vile. That they aren’t “incredible” & aren’t “trying to make the world a better place”. All done to bully the DoC. SHAME on her.”

It comes as Meghan Markle has been slammed by her estranged father, Thomas Markle, in a scathing new interview with Good Morning Britain, where he insisted she should use public transport more often, instead of private jets and long haul flying.

Piers Morgan asked Mr Markle if he believed that the Sussexes were “hypocritical” for urging the world to tackle climate change, while they enjoyed the spoils of flying private jet.

Mr Markle replied: “I think it is just, if you are preaching to do that then you should be also as responsible as to what you are preaching.

“Take a note from your brother (William) and take public transportation, it makes more sense.”

The explosive interview also touched on alleged bullying Meghan has received from the UK press, and Mr Markle was quick to deny that Meghan had been singled out by the media.

“ I’m having trouble buying that, there has never been a problem in terms of race with Meghan at her school or in any place and I haven’t noticed it in England at all,

“I think England is far more liberal than the US when it comes to races, I don’t think she is being bullied in anyway, or any shape, because of racism,” he said to Piers.

The estranged father spoke to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid as he called Meghan’s decision to step down “embarrassing” and “hurtful” to the Queen.
