Reading Festival: Girl, 20, dies in hospital ‘with family by her side’ | UK | News

The woman had a pre-existing condition and her family were by her side when she died on Friday after being admitted to Royal Berkshire Hospital. In a statement, organisers Festival Republic said: “It is with deep sadness that Festival Republic confirms there has been a death at Royal Berkshire Hospital.
“A 20-year-old festival-goer with a pre-existing condition tragically passed away on Friday evening.”
They added: “Her family was with her when she died.
“We are in touch with her family and extend our sincerest sympathy to them and her friends.”
Thames Valley Police have said the death was not a police matter.

Reading Festival takes place on Little John’s Farm on Richfield Avenue.
The festival was originally known as the National Jazz Festival and first took place in 1961.
This makes it one of the oldest popular music festivals still running.
