ABBA fans have been patiently awaiting news of the band’s next collection of music, which is due out at some point in 2021. Now, the band have seemingly given the first clue to when their next songs will be coming out.

A new Twitter account was started this week called ABBA Voyage.

The account posted its first tweet this morning, on August 26, 2021, showing an abstract image.

The tweet, which can be seen below, shows four planets with a date and a website below.

The date, September 2, 2021, is next Friday, leading fans to believe new ABBA music will hit within the next week.

The ABBA Voyage website invites fans to register for updates, while the Twitter, Facebook and Instagram icons are linked to new ABBA Voyage.

If September 2 does mark the beginning of a new collection of songs from ABBA, it would be the first new music from the band in 39 years.

A source recently explained how ABBA Voyage will involve virtual versions of the band’s members – Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.

These virtual creations will reportedly be known as ABBAtars (a play on the word avatars). (Via The Sun)

The source went on: “Furthermore, a state of the art video, using new unseen technology, has been shot costing £15 million for an upcoming single release date, still to be decided. It’s going to be an album at some point.

“Benny is over-cautious as he doesn’t want to stain the band’s legacy with anything inferior so he is taking his time writing new songs. But they are coming together rather quickly, though, by the sounds of it.

“They all sound as though they have never been away with the state-of-the-art recording technology involved. Remember, all of ABBA’s original recordings were analogue and these current recordings are digital!”

Bjorn himself spoke out in 2019 about what the band’s next steps are.

Bjorn explained: “There will be new music this year, that is definite, it’s not a case anymore of it might happen, it will happen.” (Via The Herald Sun)

He went on to talk about the band’s relationship: “We’re really, really good friends. The four of us stand in the studio for the first time in 40 years and there’s just something in knowing what we’ve been through.

“It’s hard to describe, but there are such strong, strong bonds between us.”
