Meghan and her husband Prince Harry visited a school in Harlem, New York city today where the Duchess will read her new children’s picture book, The Bench. The mum-of-two looked both chic and autumnal as she stepped out of a car in a dark red suit and suede, red stilettos. The Duchess paired the look with her signature effortless waves and gold jewellery.

Meghan, who gave birth to her daughter Lilibet only three months ago, donned a black face mask to meet the children.

It’s believed Meghan’s two-tone red suit – which included a pinkish lining – is believed to have cost $7,500 (£5,483.50).

The $5,840 (£4,269.80) cashmere coat and matching $1,680 (£1,680) trousers are believed to be from designer brand Loro Piana.

Meghan’s look attracted a lot of attention on social media with fans saying she looks “absolutely stunning”.

Meanwhile, Twitter user Patricia said: “Oooooohhhhhh Madam The Duchess Meghan in red. Looking good Madam The Duchess!!!”

Prince Harry, 37, was spotted looking more casual in cream chinos and a navy blue polo top.

He paired the look with bracelets and suede desert boots.

The Sussexes arrived at Harlem’s PS 123 Mahalia Jackson school with the New York City Schools Chancellor Meisha Porter.

Meghan posted for photos with the children, putting her arm around them.

Meghan said the book idea began as a poem she wrote for Harry.

She said at the time: “The Bench started as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born. That poem became this story.”

“My hope is that The Bench resonates with every family, no matter the makeup, as much as it does with me.”

The book is 34 pages and includes illustrations by Christian Robinson.
