Princess Stephanie: Royal’s style in pictures

[ad_1]

Princess Stephanie has ventured down multiple career paths over the years, from philanthropy to acting. The 56-year-old has also worked as a fashion designer, and it shows.

Although Stephanie has always had huge shoes to fill as the daughter of style icon Grace Kelly, she has done well.

A fan of smart tailoring, clean cuts, skirt suits, neutral colours and the once-in-a-while dash of red, Stephanie has been influenced by her mother’s style choices over the years.

Growing up, Stephanie favoured collared blazers paired with slim trousers, such as the stand-out white ensemble she wore for the Monte Carlo Masters tennis tournament in 2002.

Or, the striped blue and brown blazer with white trousers she donned in 1983 when she was pictured with then-boyfriend Paul Belmondo.

For example, Samantha referred to Prince Albert’s coronation in 2005, where Stephanie wore “a tweed skirt suit but it had multi-coloured fringing”.

She added: “Over the years we’ve seen her in textures such as leather, satin, velvet, brocade.

“Whilst she’s been seen out and about in lots of black, the princess isn’t afraid of colour.”

She has been pictured wearing bright colours including orange and purple over the years.

In recent years, Stephanie has favoured more neutral colours, suggesting her style has changed to more subtle and less bold designs.

But she is not either afraid to try something new, such as the gold silk dressing-gown like long jacket she wore last year to the Monaco Yacht Club in Monte Carlo.

The Princess paired the collared coat with a simple plain white t-shirt and jeans.

Samantha said: “Fashion should be fun and style is an evolving journey for many women.

“What you wear in your 30s and 50s might be completely different.

“As we learn about ourselves, we fall in and out of love with trends, fabrics, colours.

“It’s nice to see someone with the confidence to mix things up and give new trends a try.”

Samantha added that there are “definitely similarities” between the way Stephanie dresses and how her mother dresses.

She said: “The tailoring is very Grace Kelly, and so are some of the necklines that Stephanie seems to have favoured through the years.

“As a model, singer and fashion designer over the years, fashion is definitely in the blood.”
