Lady Charlotte Lindesay-Bethune wears ‘exquisite’ tiara at glamorous Italian wedding

Lady Charlotte is the youngest daughter of Scottish businessman James Lindesay-Bethune, 16th Earl of Lindsay. She married Prince Jaime of Bourbon-Two-Sicilies, the Duke of Noto, in Sicily last month.

Lady Charlotte donned the stunning tiara from her father the Earl of Lindsay’s family collection.

The pearl and diamond-fringed piece once belonged to Archduchess María Anna of Austria.

The tiara was gifted as a wedding present to the Archduchess María Anna of Austria in 1817.

It was then was passed down for generations but remained in the family until it was sold at auction in 1999.

However, the jewel was bought by Archduchess María Anna’s descendants, the Crociani family.

The Crocianis bought it for their daughter Camilla’s wedding.

Camilla married Prince Carlo of Bourbon-Two Sicilies.

The Royal House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies is a branch of the Spanish royal family established in southern Italy for more than 100 years.

“The Archduchess was an avid collector of jewellery.

“In 2018 another of her tiaras was sold at a Sotheby’s auction for 250,00 CHF (£197,000) alongside a diamond and pearl pendant.

“Property which has belonged to Marie Antoinette worth almost 40 million CHF (£32million),” Claire explained.
