Harrison Ford ‘returning to Star Wars as Han Solo once again’ – But BIG change this time | Films | Entertainment

Back in 1977, Star Wars helped shoot Harrison Ford to Hollywood fame, so he returned for two sequels in the early 1980s to complete the original trilogy. However, it would be over 30 years later when the megastar was convinced to reprise his smuggler Han Solo in The Force Awakens. After being killed off by his son Kylo Ren in the 2015 blockbuster, his much-loved character returned for a brief scene in 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker.

Let’s not forget that Alden Ehrenreich gave a decent performance as a young Han in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story.

However, the movie was a huge flop and its Darth Maul cliffhanger is yet to be addressed.

Some Star Wars fans continue to call on Lucasfilm to green light Solo 2 and others are hopeful the storyline will continue somehow in future Disney+ shows.

Nevertheless, a new insider report, which should be taken with a pinch of salt, claims that Ford himself is reprising Han in a post-Return of the Jedi capacity.

There were mixed reactions to Hamill’s Luke returning in the last season, with some fans being ecstatic at the sight.

However, others felt the digital de-ageing and plonking of his face onto a younger actor was very uncanny valley.

In fact, a deepfake YouTuber posted a better version and has since been hired by Lucasfilm.

Carrie Fisher was similarly de-aged for The Rise of Skywalker flashback scenes and Rogue One and Peter Cushing’s Grand Tarkin was resurrected with Guy Henry in a motion-capture suit.
