Royal BOOST: The grand gesture Queen has offered Princess Beatrice amid Megxit | Royal | News

Princess Beatrice, 31, announced the joyous news she was getting married to Italian property tycoon Edoardo “Edo” Mapelli Mozzi in the Autumn of last year. The pair got engaged while on holiday in Italy in September, but ever since the news was announced, it’s been quiet from the royal bride-to-be.

In the middle of Princess Beatrice’s wedding planning her cousin Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle announced they were stepping down as senior royals.

Following the bombshell announcement, the Queen ordered Prince Charles and Prince William to meet with the Duke of Sussex to discuss the issue further.

As a result of the meeting, the Queen released a statement supporting the couple’s decision.

The Queen’s statement read: “I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.

In addition to Harry and Meghan’s shock exit, Beatrice has also had to deal with her father Prince Andrew stepping back from royal life.

The Duke of York stepped back from royal duties in late 2019 because questions on his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein had become a “major disruption”.

Reports has suggested the bride-to-be has been forced to delay her wedding date due to her father.

Daily Mail Online understands Beatrice and Edo first had to wait for a date to be agreed by the Queen, then for the “furore surrounding Prince Andrew to die down”.

The general election, Christmas and New Year then got in the way, and now “Beatrice has been upstaged by Harry and Meghan.”

Sources have suggested the royal nuptials is to be planned for “early summer” before Royal Ascot week.

However, no official date has yet been revealed and when Buckingham Palace first announced the engagement, the statement said the couple will marry “in 2020”.

The Palace added: “Further details will be announced in due course.”

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson said of the engagement back in September: “We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride.

“We are the lucky parents of a wonderful daughter who has found her love and companion in a completely devoted friend and loyal young man.

“We send them every good wish for a wonderful family future.”

On September 26, the engagement was announced via the Royal Family’s Twitter account.
