Royal style: Camilla honours Queen Mother through jewellery choices – ‘fallen in love’

Queen Elizabeth II is the custodian of the Royal Collection, which includes precious jewels passed down from the Queen Mother since her passing in 2002. Camilla has been seen sporting many of these beautiful family heirlooms.
When Prince Charles proposed to Camilla in 2005, he popped the question with a ring that was initially gifted to the Queen Mother.
The Art Deco ring, boasting a large square cut diamond flanked by three diamond baguettes, was reportedly given to the Queen Mother in 1926 when the future Queen Elizabeth II was born.
In the same year, Camilla wore the Pearl of the Dee brooch, which the Queen Mother had received to commemorate her 100th birthday, to an engagement in Scotland.
The brooch, shaped like a fisherman’s salmon fly, took pride of place on Camilla’s pink jacket, which also had a tartan collar.

But unlike the Queen Mother, Camilla had actually pinned the brooch upside down.
A year later, Camilla stepped out in The Ladies of North Wales brooch to attend the opera.
The Queen Mother had worn the same piece to Prince Charles investiture as Prince of Wales in 1969.
The Duchess of Cornwall is often spotted in magnificent, extravagant jewels.

One of the most exquisite, intricate pieces she has sported is The Greville Festoon necklace, which is worth a staggering £8.2million, according to online retailer jewellerybox.
The astonishing five-row necklace, made by Cartier, was left to the Queen Mother.
She typically wore all five rows to grand events, but often just wore the three-row section at galas.
It was previously owned by socialite and vast jewellery collector Margaret Greville.
The Court Jeweller said of the jewel: “Few pack as much diamond firepower as the incredible Greville Festoon Necklace.”
In 2007, Camilla sported all five rows at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting.
In 2012, Camilla attended the James Bond Skyfall premiere in another jewel that once belonged to the Queen Mother.
Stepping out at the Royal Albert Hall, she dazzled in a heart shaped purple quartz necklace, which was gifted to the Queen Mother in 1923 as a wedding present.
The Court Jeweller added: “Camilla is particularly skilled at wearing spectacular necklaces.”
The Greville tiara was also bequeathed to the Queen Mother by Mrs Greville, which Camilla has been pictured in.
She wore it to the annual Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace in December 2017.
The tiara, with its honeycomb motif, is a firm favourite of the Duchess of Cornwall.
The Crown Jeweller stated: “Camilla has also clearly fallen in love with the jewel, as it is by far her most-worn tiara.”
