Meghan Markle’s first engagement ring from Trevor Engelson cost just £13k – less expensive

Meghan Markle has been married to Prince Harry for three and a half years, however it is not the first time Meghan got married. In 2011, Meghan tied the knot with her ex-husband Trevor Engelson after six years of dating. However, they divorced in 2013 because of “irreconcilable differences”.
Trevor, 45, is an American film producer best known for the romance tear-jerker Remember Me, starring Robert Pattinson.
They had a September wedding in Jamaica in front of about 100 members of family and friends.
But Meghan’s first engagement ring was very different to the one she wears today.
While not many details of Meghan’s previous engagement ring have been released, she was spotted wearing it at a red carpet event in 2011, five years before she met Harry.

Her first ring was reportedly a Princess-cut diamond solitaire set on two thin pave bands.
She teamed this with another pave wedding band, resulting in a very bling combination.
The precious jewel featured a grand cathedral setting showcasing the cushion-cut diamond.
On her big day, Meghan wore a strapless white dress with a silver jewelled belt, which perfectly complemented her engagement ring.

Pictures of the former Suits actress from October 2011, one month after her beachfront wedding, showed the star sporting her ring.
In January 2013, more sparkling jewellery had been added to Meghan’s ring finger.
However, just months later the couple got divorced and Meghan was not seen wearing the ring again.
Prince Harry, on the other hand, went for a more classic design when he proposed in 2017.
Meghan’s current engagement ring has Princess Diana’s two diamonds sitting on either side of a huge rock from Botswana, a country that is very special to Prince Harry.
He first visited the country just weeks after his mother’s death when he was 12 years old.
The Prince also paid attention to Meghan’s detailed likes and dislikes.
Harry chose yellow gold, which he acknowledged is a favourite of Meghan’s over platinum.
Prince Harry and Meghan gave a sit-down interview with the BBC, hours after they announced their engagement.
Harry said: “The ring is obviously yellow gold because that’s Meghan’s favourite and the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana.
“The little diamonds either side are from my mother’s jewellery collection, to make sure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together.”
But just over 18 months later Meghan revealed a significant change to the ring, having replaced the yellow gold band with a delicate diamond-studded band.
Diamond expert, Zack Stone, estimates that Meghan’s first engagement ring cost £13,000.
This is ten times less than Meghan’s engagement ring from Prince Harry which is valued at around £134,000.
