Earlier this week, the palace released some gorgeous portraits ahead of the day.

Princess Mary wore a shimmering floor-length dress by Danish designer Lasse Spangenberg, featuring long sleeves and a cinched waist, for the official photographs. 

The mother-of-four combined the look with some stunning pieces of jewellery.

The royal donned ruby and silver bracelets, elegant drop earrings, a silver brooch and a beautiful tiara.
