Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, attended a royal appearance alongside Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall on Thursday last week.

Although the waist belt perfectly cinches in the Duchess’s petit frame, the combination of thick black tights, prim half and half hair and a stuffy collared neckline is more reminiscent of the schoolgirls she was visiting, rather than our future queen and a mother-of-three in her prime.

Perhaps it was a purposeful and more sedate choice given the seniority of her company on the day, Charles and Camilla.

But, I think a sleeker shape and a more laid-back up-do hairstyle would have given the look a more modern edge whilst balancing out the formality of the dress.

An avid wearer of Italian shoe designer Gianvito Rossi, known for his sexy sky-high stiletto heels, I’m a little disappointed that Kate opted for her usual clumpy 85 pumps instead of a more delicate style like she did when she wore the same dress in January 2020.

I’m still holding out for something a little more adventurous though.

A subtle pop of colour here would have been a chic touch and a less predictable brand would show Kate’s more youthful side.

It has been suggested Kate Middleton’s eyebrows have been given the latest “laminated” eyebrows treatment.

Tori Rosero, make-up artist and founder of Glowblade Academy told Express.co.uk: “Kate Middleton’s fluffy brows definitely look like they have been laminated to create a natural, yet fluffy and perfectly set brow.”
