Dr Lee believes there has been a “constantly shifting” narrative from the President, which he has allegedly produced in an attempt to “avert criticism”.

She told Express.co.uk: “We know that he went from calling it a Democrats’ ‘new hoax’ to ‘I always knew it was a pandemic,’ and stating, ‘We have it totally under control’ to ‘This blindsided the world.’”

The forensic psychiatrist has also criticised President Trump over his remark on plans to “reopen by Easter” while infection rates are “exponentially rising” and will likely be “at their height”.

She told Express.co.uk: “Because he has no empathy or conscience, he is about to put the entire nation—and the world—in danger but also not be held accountable for it.

“This is how mental pathology works: it becomes a weapon for someone with ill intent, as it hijacks the minds of his followers, who believe he is doing his best and a great job.”

“Since this comes out of powerful mental symptoms, it is not something that he can correct with better information and advice.”
