Police were called to the scene of a party on Saturday night whereby a group of people were gathered. At 10pm on Saturday night, police were called to the party in Normanton where they found a 25-person party taking place. After confronting the group, police were said to be in shock and gave strong words of advice to the people. 

A Twitter account for Derbyshire Police, DerWestResponse, tweeted: “Officers have just attended an address in absolute shock to find 25 adults and children having a massive party with speakers and karaoke.

“It is clear people are still having complete disregard for the Government advice and rules.”

Derbyshire Police had also introduced measures to stop gatherings in the county’s blue lagoon. 

The force had also come under pressure for using drone footage to track people walking in the Peak District.

The local police have not commented further on the incident. 

In order to deter visitors to the lagoon, the police also used black dye to stop people travelling to the site. 

On their Facebook the neighbourhood policing force said: “No doubt this is due to the picturesque location and the lovely weather for once in Buxton.

“However, the location is dangerous and this type of gathering is in contravention of the current instruction of the UK Government.

While she also insisted the measures may be extended, Ms harries added that an instant return to normal life would be dangerous. 

She said: “We must not then suddenly revert to our normal way of living, that would be quite dangerous.

“A sudden lifting could see the nation’s sacrifices “wasted” with another spike in deaths, which have reached 1,228. 

“We need to keep that lid on and then gradually we will be able to hopefully adjust some of the social distancing measures and gradually get us all back to normal

“Three weeks for review, two or three months to see if we’ve really squashed it, but three to six months, ideally, but lots of uncertainty in that but then to see at which point we can actually get back to normal and it is plausible it could go further than that.

“This is not to say we would be in complete lockdown for six months, but as a nation we have to be really, really responsible and keep doing what we’re all doing until we’re sure we can gradually start lifting various interventions which are likely to be spaced – based on the science and our data – until we gradually come back to a normal way of living.”
