Kate Middleton news: Prince William’s wife skips royal parenting traditions with children

Like many new mothers, Kate has picked her parenting style based on what felt right for her, show director at The Baby Show Zoe Bonser explained.
She told Express.co.uk: “Kate also values quality family time and has broken some traditions – such as sending George to a mixed school and dropping George off at school herself.
“Kate also had her mum to help in the days after the birth, rather than an army of staff.”
The expert said the Duchess values family time and has been there for milestones in her children’s lives, such as Prince George’s first day at school.

Speaking on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast last month, Kate gave an insight to how she likes to spend quality family time.
Kate said: “With my own children, life now is so busy. It’s so distracting and actually those simple things like watching a fire on a really rainy day provided such enjoyment.
“And actually, I remember that from my own childhood. Doing simple things like going for a walk together.
“That’s what I really try to do with my children as well, as it totally strips away all the complications and pressures as a parent.”
Being part of the Royal Family, Kate and Prince William attract attention when they step out in public.
Although they have such high profile lives, Kate still values privacy.
As the children get older, they have been seen out in public more often.
However, the Duchess still has some tricks to protect their privacy as much as possible.
Zoe added: “Kate values privacy and tries to keep the children away from the media apart from on more special occasions or events.
“Kate also takes pictures herself, giving her the freedom and power over what is used in public – and a chance to use her artistic skills.”
Although she does some things her own way, the Duchess of Cambridge will still make an effort to follow some traditions.
“Kate is seen as more traditional and this probably down to the responsibilities that Prince George will have one day,” Zoe explained.
“For instance, the children are always dressed in traditional British clothing for public appearances and Kate is happy for them to appear in photo calls.”
