PRS Presents LCKDWN is a 24-hour fundraising gig to help support the PRS Emergency Fund. To help musicians who have lost their jobs in the COVID-19 crisis, artists have teamed up to perform a virtual gig and raise funds to support them. The line-up is eclectic to say the least, and fans will be dying to see how these artists can work together.
How to watch PRS Presents LCKDWN
From midday (BST) on Friday, April 24, artists from across the globe will come together – virtually – for PRS Presents LCKDWN.
The one-off event celebrates “the special role music plays in our lives, the positive impact it has and, importantly, the creators behind the music”, organisers say.
Who is performing at PRS Presents LCKDWN virtual gig?
More than 50 artists are performing from a wide range of genres, including grime, classical and pop.
As well as those performing, a huge number of musicians have lent their support to the cause by recording video messages of support to the fund, with stars like Matt Lucas and Mel C among the many.
Alfie Boe, classical singer extraordinaire, is taking to the living room stage to perform in the virtual gig.
The singer is known for his collaborations with Michael Ball, with whom he has released two albums, as well as his roles as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables and in the Baz Luhrmann’s revival of La boheme.
Also in the bill, in major contrast, is rapper Big Narstie, whose career started as part of a grime group, before he began to diversify into a genre he calls “grime comedy.”
He has guest appeared on a number of TV shows and now hosts his own TV series The Big Narstie Show on Channel 4.
British singer-songwriter Tom Walker is also on the bill, bringing his blend of indie, folk and pop to the mix.
Speaking about the gig, he said: “I’m buzzing to be part of PRS Presents LCKDWN alongside such a banging line-up.
“We’re all figuring this out as we go along, so to still feel part of a bigger collective during this time it’s really inspiring.”

All proceeds raised from the virtual gig will go towards the PRS Emergency Relief Fund, to help songwriters and composers severely financially impacted by coronavirus.
