The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will release a photo of Archie to celebrate this exciting milestone, the couple’s spokesperson has confirmed. The move will come as a surprise to many royal fans as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are known for valuing their privacy and chose to keep the details of their son’s birth tightly under wraps.
The couple are easing themselves into post-royal life in Los Angeles and have been shielding their 11-month-old baby from the spotlight.
A representative of the pair told The Sunday Times an image of Archie will be made public to mark his birthday on May 6.
The paper’s royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will give the world a rare glimpse of their son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor next month when they publicly mark his first birthday on May 6.
“’You can expect to see him,’ confirms a spokesman to The Sunday Times.”
Former actress Meghan and the Queen’s grandson have been pictured dropping off donated meals to vulnerable people in Los Angeles.
They have signed up as volunteers for the charity Project Angel Food.
The two have been spotted out and about wearing masks and casual attire as they deliver essentials.
Meghan, 38, and Harry, 35, put their names forward for the voluntary work after feeling “helpless” amid the crisis.

Californians are increasingly defying lockdown orders to venture outside their homes for non-essential trips.
Amid soaring temperatures, thousands flocked to beaches where police were on patrol.
Officers were filmed making arrests during the summer-like heatwave.
Harry and Meghan were understood to be planning on throwing a big birthday bash for Archie and inviting their A-lister friends in Hollywood.
However, due to the lockdown such a gathering will be out of the question.
The couple and their son used Zoom to connect with the Queen on her 94th birthday last week.
Next month they may also use the video platform to speak to family members as they celebrate Archie’s birthday thousands of miles away from Harry’s relatives.
On May 19 the couple will celebrate their second wedding anniversary.
They are said to be house hunting in the celebrity playground of Malibu.
As they seek a more private life away from the royal system, Meghan and Harry have been warned Malibu is a paparazzi “hotspot”.
LA photographer Mark Karloff, host of the Paparazzi Podcast, told the Daily Star described the area as a “hotbed of around 300 photographers”.
