Why are Sophie and the Queen so close?

Taking naturally to royal life may have helped Sophie get into the Queen’s good books, body language expert Judi James explained.

She told Express.co.uk: “Sophie is said to be a close ally of her mother-in-law the Queen.

“In terms of her body language she tends to blend some of the signals of the kind of laid-back calm and fun that we get from Zara [Tindall] with the stoic, deft formality of the Queen herself.”

The Queen is known to be a big fan of horses and enjoys riding in the grounds of her home.

This is a sport Sophie also likes and is thought to fill her spare time with.

Jewellery

When a royal bride ties the knot, they will often get to borrow a piece from the Queen’s collection.

While most brides will simply wear a tiara for the big day, Sophie was given one commissioned by the Queen as a gift.

The Countess walked down the aisle wearing a jewel made up of four pieces of Queen Victoria’s Regal Circlet.
