It seems that clothing and other personal belongings once owned by Diana, Princess of Wales, are always coming up for auction, as the love for the people’s princess goes on long after her tragic death in 1997.

There is no doubt that there is just as much interest in the late People’s Princess today as there was when she was alive as yet another one of her personal items is gaining keen interest from royal fans.

Fans have adored the peoples princess ever since she entered the public eye and captured the hearts of the public with her outstanding work and heartwarming words of wisdom.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that any of her personal belongings auctioned off in the past has came to a hefty amount.

Previous items include a prized Virgin Atlantic jumper given to her by Sir Richard Branson that she wore to the gym, and a handwritten letter of thanks to an army officer who attended Prince William’s birthday.

Now, there’s an even more unusual piece of Princess Diana memorabilia up for auction.

This is all related to the wedding shoes she wore upon her marriage to Prince Charles.

The wedding took place on Wednesday 29 July 1981 at St Paul’s Cathedral in London and was a day to be remembered for years to come.

Now, a number of items used to prepare the princess for the special occasion will go up for aution.

This includes a photo copy of the Clive Shilton design of her wedding shoes, as well as press information relating to the production of the slippers.

Up for grabs is also two postcards with a sample of the lace that was used in the production process.

The items will go on sale with Sworder online between 22-31st May.

The Clive Shilton shoes worn by Diana on her wedding day featured more than 500 sequins, over 100 seed pearls, satin and lace, and the arches were adorned with the letters ‘C’ for Charles and ‘D’ for Diana, with a heart between them.

A spare pair was sold in 2011 for over $50,000.

Diana’s heels were said to be very low – as she feared being taller than her groom.

“Her main concern was that she wouldn’t appear taller than Prince Charles, and because she was very tall – 5ft 10in – the shoes would have to have a low heel,” Shilton famously told the press at the time of the couple’s wedding.

The items comes for sale from a vendor who previously worked for Clive Shilton and had been given them as a gift.

The estimate is £100-150.

The auction, titled Luxury Items and Interior Design, will be held online from May 22-31 with bids invited via www.sworder.co.uk.

Meanwhile, her grandson, Prince Louis has just turned two, and royal fans are finding out more and more about the young prince as he grows.

Giving a glimpse of his character, royal expert Katie Nicholl told OK!: “Louis dotes on his older brother and sister and is always trying to keep up with them.

“He’s talking lots now and is holding his own.

“He’s got quite an outgoing personality from what I’ve been told. He’s certainly not shy.”

The Cambridges recently hinted that he’s becoming quite a wilful toddler and often comes close to sabotaging regular calls to the family via Zoom.

“It gets a bit hectic, I’m not going to lie, with the two-year-old,” said Kate.
