American reality star Daniel Silva has been charged with murder following the death of YouTuber Corey La Barrie.
La Barrie died in a car crash on his 25th birthday on 10 May, and Silva is alleged to have been behind the wheel.
A statement from the LA County District Attorney’s office reads: “A 26-year-old man has been charged with killing the passenger in his McLaren sports car after crashing into a tree in Valley Village earlier this month.”
According to documents seen by TMZ, the DA say Silva “did unlawfully, and with malice aforethought” murder La Barrie.

Silva’s black 2020 McLaren 600LT hit a stop sign and a tree after the driver lost control, according to the authorities.
La Barrie and Silva are reported to have been at a party before the accident took place.
Silva, who starred in the 10th series of US tattoo reality show Ink Masters, could face a maximum sentence of 15 years to life in prison if convicted.
La Barrie was popular on YouTube, with over 383,000 subscribers on his personal channel, and frequently teamed up with fellow YouTuber Crawford Collins, who recently posted a video tribute to his best friend.
In one of his last tweets, La Barrie thanked his followers for their well wishes, writing: “Thank you for the birthday wishes love you guys! And if you have the intro to my stream how did you like it?”

La Barrie’s mother Lissa Burton confirmed her son’s death on Instagram, writing: “My heart breaks right now. The accident killed him instantly.
“No words can describe the sadness I feel in losing a child. It just feels so unreal and I’m overwhelmed with grief. I love you so much Corey and will miss you so so much. It’s just so unfair.”
A GoFundMe page to raise money for the YouTube star’s funeral costs exceeded its $150,000 (£122,000) target in just two days and has now raised over $200,000 (£163,000).
A bail amount of $2m (£1.6m) is reported to have been recommended for Silva, who reportedly fractured his hip in the accident.
