Kate Middleton inspiration: Who is the Duchess bringing the ‘Kate effect’ to Belgium?

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, is known for her stylish outfits, with many items selling out shortly after she is pictured wearing them. Often dubbed the ‘Kate effect’, it appears Princess Elisabeth has now found herself setting a similar trend in Belgium.
Earlier this year, it was announced the Duchess of Brabant would be attending the Royal Military Academy this autumn.
Accompanying the press release was a picture of the 18-year-old in jogging gear, which was made by Liebaert Textiles.
And in a similar vein to the ‘Kate effect’, the company says orders for their clothing have since doubled, with additional staff being brought in to meet the demands.
Camille Liebaert, the designer behind Liebaert Textiles, told The Brussels Times: “I woke up at 7am on Wednesday morning and immediately had a few messages from people who had forwarded the front page of a number of newspapers.

“The leggings go together with a sports bra and a t-shirt,” the designer added.
Stylist Susie Hasler, who runs Styled By Susie, says the ability to sell-out items of clothing is just one of the similarities between Princess Elisabeth and the Duchess of Cambridge.
“They both favour a simple, chic, yet feminine style,” Hasler told the Mail.
“We have seen this develop with Kate over the years, into the look she wears today.
“She is formal, but not stuffy. She’s conservative but approachable. And each of these is apparent in her outfit choices.
“Overall, she’s very elegant – as is Princess Elisabeth.”
The stylist added: “The two women both have slender figures, too, and choose styles that flatter, without making the outfit the talking point.
“Princess Elisabeth wears the Duchess’ staple nude heels with many of her outfits and she likes to add pops of colour, while keeping the overall look, simple, tailored and feminine.”
