A Cosmopolitan magazine writer states that “back in the day Charles really served some lewks as he jetted all around the world being boujie and royal”. The writer, Amy Bannerman, highlights how the Duke of Wales is the father-in-law to the “fashion savvy” Duchess of Cambridge and was married to the “ever chic” Princess Diana who’s fashion is still being imitated 23 years since her death.

Ms Bannerman shows 23 pictures of Prince Charles in his earlier years as a father and younger man.

She claims these images prove that the Duke of Wales is the original hipster.

A hipster is an individual who follows trends and fashion, particularly those outside the mainstream styles.

However, Cosmopolitan magazine state that Prince Charles “doesn’t follow trends, he sets them”.

The first picture portrays the Duke wearing a bright yellow Hermès sweater in a field.

Ms Bannerman describes the look as “totally luxury but casual”.

Another picture shows Prince Charles wearing a colourful kaftan on a tour in Ghana in 1977.

While a different image of the Duke illustrates his skiing styles which consist of some neon sunglasses, a roll neck top and a bandana tied around his neck.

The last image further shows the Duke’s use of accessories as he is pictured wearing a cowboy hat and boots with a bolo tie.

This comes as Prince Charles has been promoting the ‘Pick for Britain’ campaign during the coronavirus pandemic.

In a video posted on the Clarence Twitter page, the Duke said that an “army” of workers is needed to harvest Britain’s fruit and vegetables during the Covid-19 crisis.

He said in the clip: “If we are to harvest British fruit and vegetables this year, we need an army of people to help.

“Food does not happen by magic; it all begins with our remarkable farmers and growers.

“If the last few weeks have proved anything, it is that food is precious and valued and it cannot be taken for granted.”

The Duke added: “This is why that great movement of the Second World War – the Land Army – is being rediscovered in the newly created ‘Pick for Britain’ campaign.”

Although Prince Charles is not wearing a pair of garish sunglasses in the video, he is sporting a classic suit and cream coat while stood in a harvest garden.

He explained that over the next few months, thousands of people will need to help bring in the crops.

The Duke stated: “It will be hard graft but is hugely important if we are to avoid the growing crops going to waste.”
