Dan Walker net worth: BBC Breakfast presenter’s huge salary revealed

Dan Walker, 43, is an English journalist and television broadcaster from Crawley in Sussex. Well known for being Piers Morgan’s biggest rival as they battle it out for the best breakfast show, he hosts BBC Breakfast alongside Louise Minchin three days a week. The popular presenter also hosts other shows for the channel, which has earned him an impressive salary over the years.
As well as hosting BBC Breakfast since 2016, Walker has also presented Football Focus since 2009.
He also works in radio, presenting shows on BBC Radio 5 Live, as well as working on other sports gigs such as presenting for the BBC News channel and reporting for Match of the Day.
Walker’s latest project is a new book, Remarkable People: A Celebration of Goodness, Kindness and Humanity, which is out later this year.
The book is a “celebration” of people that Walker has interviewed and met during his career.
So how much has Dan Walker earned and what is his net worth in 2020?

In an exclusive interview with the Radio Times, Walker opened up about the salaries being published.
“You get accused of being part of the liberal, metropolitan elite and I couldn’t feel further from that,” he commented.
“I do think I provide good value. I work my backside off six days a week and I have done for a long time.”
Walker is a devout Christian and never works on Sundays, something he decided at the start of his career.
However, he said he is grateful for his job and his high salary.
“I get paid a lot. I really feel privileged and thankful for my job, and I love the people I work with,” he added.
Walker is also an active patron of several charities, and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief in 2019.
However, the star said his salary was only so high because of the number of programmes he was working on for the BBC – the figure wasn’t only for his appearances on BBC Breakfast.
Walker’s salary was also a small sum compared to other presenters on the list.
Gary Lineker remained the broadcaster’s highest-earner on a massive £1.75million salary.
However, fellow BBC Breakfast star Naga Munchetty wasn’t far behind Walker in the £190,000 – £194,999 bracket.
Dan also told the Press Association that it was uncomfortable to have his salary published so publicly.
“I still think working for the BBC is brilliant and the BBC are a fantastic organisation, and they provide value for money. But I’d be lying if I told you it’s not awkward for people to know how much you earn,” he said.
The list made headlines as most of the top ten earners were men, identifying a potential gender pay gap at the company.
Walker’s BBC Breakfast co-host Louise Minchin did not make the initial list, which only contained stars earning more than £150,000.
