Princess Beatrice wedding: Ring breaks centuries-old tradition with flashy diamond band
[ad_1]
Princess Beatrice’s wedding band was designed specifically to fit around her engagement ring, bucking a centuries old tradition. Traditionally, royal brides’ rings are made from Welsh gold.
Princess Beatrice’s engagement ring and wedding band are more modern in style, especially compared to her sister’s.
Princess Eugenie has a pink sapphire, surrounded by diamonds, in a style very similar to her mother’s, Sarah Ferguson’s.
Many royal engagement rings feature coloured stones, as this was the traditional style before diamond rings became the choice for almost every bride to be.
Coloured stones have once again become fashionable, perhaps because of this royal inspiration.
Royals fan may also have noticed Beatrice’s secret nod Kate Middleton at her wedding.
Beatrice wore a pair of Valentino heels in a champagne hue.
The Princess wore the shoes to Kate Middleton’s wedding to Prince William in 2011.
These shoes are actually a bespoke pair and have been signed by the designer.
