Queen Letizia, then Letizia Ortiz, was announced as the future bride of Felipe in November 2003. Felipe proposed with a ring boasting 16 diamonds. The pair married less than a year later in May 2004.
Like most royal families, the Spanish royals have antique jewellery, which is incredibly valuable and precious.
The best time for these sorts of gems to be worn is at official state events, but especially weddings, when celebratory spirits are high.
This was certainly the case for Letizia’s wedding at Cathedral Santa María la Real de la Almudena in Madrid.
Letizia wore a number of gorgeous pieces, including a royal tiara.

To compliment Letizia’s tiara she wore a pair stunning earrings.
Helen said: “A pair of diamond earrings set with three pear-cut diamonds as a quartrefoil to the top with two round diamonds below forming a drop.
“Total diamond weight approximately 14ct in total and look exceptionally white in colour and very good clarity.
“A pair of earring this size and quality would retail for £200,000.”
King Felipe has an enormous net worth as sovereign of Spain.
Business insider reports his net worth is around £16m.
