However, in an Instagram Live chat from May, Ulrich candidly admitted why he was departing, saying: “I’m leaving Riverdale because I got bored creatively. That’s the most honest answer.”

Ulrich is slated to be working on a new TV series called BIOS, which is in post-production.

He is also reported to be part of a project called The Mystery of Casa Matusita, which is in pre-production.

Nonetheless, Ulrich could always return to Riverdale in the future should he wish to after the programme-makers confirmed he wouldn’t be killed off.

Ulrich will be making his final appearance in Riverdale in 2021 when the show returns.
