The Duchess of Cambridge also has a range of earrings that have given a nod to Princess Diana.

Diamond and Sapphire Earrings

To match her stunning engagement ring, Princess Diana had a pair of earrings, LeVian CEO Eddie LeVian told Express.co.uk.

“These sapphire and diamond earrings, first worn by Diana, have been refashioned by Kate to her personal taste,” he said.

DON’T MISS

“Originally, they featured both a round stud and an oval one that dangled beneath it. Kate, however, has had the stud removed, opting for a simple, single drop earring instead.”

Sapphires were believed to be Princess Diana’s favourite jewel and Kate has given a nod her by wearing these pieces, the expert added.

He said: “Sapphires were a favourite of Diana’s – just think of her famous engagement ring, and these earnings matched it perfectly.

“Kate’s modernised version of these earrings retains the beauty of the original, but is more understated and versatile.”

Drop Pearl Earrings

The eye-catching jewels have teardrop pearls hanging from a gold and white stud.

When wearing these earrings, Kate made a nod to Princess Diana by wearing a similar dress to her.

“These spectacular, romantic, head-turning earrings, worn by Kate at the 2019 Baftas, are an absolute statement piece,” Eddie continued.

“The large South Sea teardrop pearls hang from an elaborate gold and diamond design.

“Diana wore these at a benefit gala in Sydney in 1996. Notably, both Kate and Diana chose to pair these sumptuous earrings with an asymetric, one-shoulder dress.”

Collingwood Drop Pearl Earrings

The jewels have become a staple in Kate’s, Eddie explained.

He continued: “Laden with regal history, these sleek, sophisticated and versatile earrings were first worn by Princess Diana prior to her wedding.

“Timeless drop pearls in a teardrop shape, they are clasped in diamonds.

“Kate was first spotted wearing these at the Spanish State Banquet in 2017 when King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain visited the United Kingdom, and she has gone on to wear them many times since.”
