One Direction: Liam Payne says Jesy Nelson quit Little Mix for ‘same reason’ as Zayn Malik | Music | Entertainment

Former One Direction star Liam Payne has been working hard to connect with his fans in the last couple of months. Just this week he appeared on a TikTok Live to speak to his die-hard fanbase, and discuss some of the latest bits of news in the industry. The hot topic of the month is the news that Jesy Nelson quit girl band Little Mix after nine years.

Jesy left the band earlier this month, explaining: “I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.”

Liam knows exactly what it’s like to lose a member of the band.

In 2015 fellow One Direction singer Zayn Malik quit the group whilst they were in the middle of their world tour.

At the time, Zayn cited “stress” as one of his reasons for wanting to leave, as well as wanting to live a “normal 22-year-old” life.

Seeing similarities in Zayn and Jesy’s cases, Liam spoke out on how things are within bands at times like these.

It is certainly going to be a tough situation for Little Mix and Jesy now that they have parted ways, but there is always a way back.

Most recently Liam teased a reunion for One Direction, four years after they had split.

He revealed he had been in close contact with fellow 1D member Louis Tomlinson in recent weeks.

In a recent interview Liam was quizzed on whether he would like to have a Zoom “catch-up” with the rest of his band, to which he replied: “I’d love that, honestly. I would.”

Liam then announced: “I was on the phone to Louis for a good hour yesterday.

“And yeah, you know, I think we just need a proper catch up. Actually it was nice to catch up for the ten-year anniversary.”

The Both Ways singer added: “But yeah I’m hoping we’ve got a lot more to come from us… Yeah I think we’ve got a lot more to come.”
