One Direction reunion odds slashed again as 2021 get-together looks more promising | Music | Entertainment

Fans of One Direction have been calling out for a reunion since their split back in 2015 – and it seemed as if their desires were confirmed in 2020. Last year Liam Payne appeared to confirm that reunion talks were occurring during a chat with DJ Alesso on Instagram Live. In April he said: “Most of us are in London. We’ve been trying to arrange the first group FaceTime with the boys at the moment.” However, he went on to add: “I can’t say too much. Louis [Tomlinson] told me off for revealing a bit of our plans the other day, so you’re going to have the group chat telling me off.”
According to Ladbrokes, the chances of Liam’s secretive reunion are now greater than ever, as One Direction currently have a 1/4 shot at getting back together this year – down from 1/5 last month.
This is obviously massive news, as, since the split, each of the former stars of the band have gone solo, carving out notable careers of their own along the way.
Most notably, Harry Styles conquered 2020 with his 2019 album, Fine Line. The sophomore record stayed in the charts for most of the year, mostly due to his fantastic summer hit Watermelon Sugar.
This latest update from the bookies may mean the band are finally looking to get back together after spending a few years working on their own careers.

Just a few months later, in January 2016, Us Weekly published a report claiming the band’s hiatus had become a permanent split.
This hiatus and split came just months after Zayn Malik announced his exit from the band.
The star cited “stress” and a desire to be a “normal” 22-year-old for the abrupt exit – which he made during a world tour.
Later, the rest of the team decided to call it quits as well, bringing their epic journey as one of the biggest boy bands on the planet to an end.
Since then, each member of the band have released their own solo albums. Zayn Malik is the latest member to release a new record, Nobody Is Listening, which came out last week.
Unfortunately for Zayn, it has so far proven to be his worst-selling album yet – as it sold a meagre 1,800 copies in the first week.
His first album, Mind of Mine, sold over 112,000 in the first week, while his follow-up album, Icarus Falls, claimed between 3,000 and 5,000 sales.
