The Health Secretary will address the nation to announce all older residents in care homes have now been offered a coronavirus jab.
It represents a key milestone in the Government’s rollout of the jab programme, with the NHS on target to have given a first dose of the vaccine to the top four most vulnerable groups by February 15.
Mr Hancock said that four fifths of over-80s have received their first dose of the vaccine, alongside three quarters of those aged between 75 and 79.
Almost nine million people in Britain have now received a Covid jab, with 17 percent of the adult population now inoculated.
The huge step forward in the vaccine rollout comes as a leaked Cabinet Office paper indicates the number of coronavirus infections across the UK is now “stabilising”.
